Dried Henna Leaves, Pure As They Grow
No chemicals, no additives, no shortcuts — just sun-dried henna (mehndi) leaves, ground fine, ready to be turned into a fresh paste for your hair or a traditional mehndi for your hands.
Sehat bhi, Sunnah bhi... Stay Healthy!
Leaves, dried and ground. Nothing else.
Our henna leaves — the same leaves used to make mehndi — are harvested, sun-dried, and ground into a fine powder, with no synthetic dye, no PPD, no metallic salts, and no fragrance mixed in. What you get is the plant itself, the way henna and mehndi have been used for generations before packaged cones and "instant colour" powders existed.
Because it's unprocessed, it behaves like a natural leaf, not a cosmetic product. Read the note further down before you use it, especially if you're expecting a specific shade.
One powder, two everyday uses
Mix this henna (mehndi) powder into a paste and it works two ways — on the scalp and hair, and as traditional mehndi on the skin of your hands.
For hair
- Conditions the scalp — the paste sits on the scalp and leaves it feeling cooler and less oily after a rinse.
- Coats and strengthens each strand — a thin natural film forms over the hair shaft, which is why henna-treated hair often feels thicker.
- Softens texture over time — regular use tends to reduce frizz and add a natural sheen without silicone-based serums.
- Helps with a flaky scalp — many find it soothing on a scalp prone to dryness or dandruff.
- May deepen or add warmth to hair colour — the tint it leaves depends entirely on your natural hair colour and how long you leave it on.
For hands (mehndi)
- Traditional mehndi application — the classic use, for festivals, weddings, or simply because you enjoy it.
- Cools the skin — mehndi paste has a cooling effect that many find pleasant, especially in warm weather.
- Gentle on the skin — with nothing but the leaf itself, there's no added fragrance or dye to react to.
- A calming ritual — the ten to fifteen minutes it takes to apply is, for many, part of the point.
- Colour develops naturally — the stain deepens over 24–48 hours and fades gradually over one to three weeks, same as it always has.
Making the henna & mehndi paste
A simple base recipe — adjust liquid and rest time depending on whether it's for hair or mehndi on hands.
Measure the powder
Take out as much henna powder as you need into a non-metal bowl (glass, ceramic, or plastic works best).
Add a liquid, slowly
Mix in warm water (or lemon water, tea water, or a bit of oil for hair) a little at a time until you get a smooth, lump-free paste.
Let it rest
Cover the bowl and leave the paste for a few hours, or overnight, for the dye to release fully.
Apply
For hair, section and apply root to tip; for mehndi on hands, apply in your chosen pattern. Leave on as long as suits your purpose, then rinse or let it flake off on its own.
About the colour
Because this henna (mehndi) has no chemicals, dyes, or colour-fixing agents added, we cannot guarantee a specific shade or intensity — on hair or as mehndi on hands. The final colour depends on the quality and freshness of the leaves, how long the paste rests, what it's mixed with, and your own skin or hair chemistry. This is normal for pure, unprocessed henna and is part of what makes it different from packaged instant-colour products.
Questions people ask us
A few things worth knowing before your first mehndi or henna hair session.
What is the difference between henna and mehndi?
They're the same plant, Lawsonia inermis. "Henna" is the English and botanical name, while "mehndi" is the name used across South Asia — especially for the paste applied to hands and feet.
Will this give me jet black hair or full grey coverage?
No. Without chemicals, henna gives a reddish-brown tint that blends into your natural hair colour rather than a flat black or a guaranteed grey cover. For a darker or blacker tone, henna is traditionally paired with indigo powder as a separate step.
How long should I leave the paste on?
For hair, 2 to 4 hours is typical. For mehndi on hands, a few hours to overnight gives a deeper stain — let it dry and flake off before rinsing with water only, without soap.
Is it safe for sensitive skin and scalp?
With no synthetic dyes or fragrance, it's generally gentler than chemical colours or "black henna." If your skin is particularly reactive, do a small patch test first.
How should I store the powder?
Keep it in an airtight container, away from sunlight and moisture, so the natural dye content stays fresh for longer.
What can I mix into the paste besides water?
Lemon water, tea or coffee water, yogurt, or oils are common, depending on whether you're using it for hair or mehndi on hands — each can shift the final colour slightly.
Want a deeper, darker tone?
Pair this henna with katam — the combination the Prophet ﷺ and his companions used on grey hair — for a richer reddish-brown to dark-brown shade, mixed in the ratio you choose.
