Hazrat Aamir bin Shu'aib (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever practices medicine without prior knowledge of it will be held responsible for any harm caused."

This single hadith carries the entire ethic behind Tibb-e-Nabawi: healing is an amanah (trust), not a guess. Allah Ta'ala affirms this in the Qur'an — Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 269 — describing Hikmah (wisdom/discernment) as something granted to those who go on to benefit others deeply. Knowledge comes first. Benefit follows.
