"The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'Healing is in three things: A gulp of honey, Hijama (cupping), and branding with fire (cauterization). But I forbid my followers from using branding.'"

"Ibn al-Qayyim remarks: 'Sweet pomegranate is warm and damp, excellent for the stomach, strengthens the chest, and clears the lungs. Sour pomegranate is cold and dry, stops diarrhea, cools the liver, and strengthens hot temperaments.'"

"The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: 'Treat yourselves with Senna and Sanut (fennel/cumin), for in them is a cure for every disease except Al-Sam.' It was asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is Al-Sam?' He said: 'Death.'"
"The Prophet (PBUH) asked Asma bint Umays, 'With what do you purge your bowels?' She said, 'With spurge (Shubrum).' He said: 'It is hot and harmful.' She then said, 'I purge with Senna.' The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'If there were anything containing a cure for death, it would be Senna.'"

Costus is a highly esteemed, woody root praised by the Prophet (PBUH) as containing 'seven cures', available in two varieties: the dark, hot Indian Costus (Qust al-Hindi) and the white, milder Sea Costus (Qust al-Bahri), used to heal respiratory tracts, treat tonsillitis, and correct menstrual and thyroid disorders.
"The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'Treat yourselves with this Indian incense (Qust al-Hindi), for in it is a cure for seven diseases. It should be inhaled through the nostrils for throat problems, and poured into the mouth for pleurisy.'"
"The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'The best of your remedies are Hijama (cupping) and Qust al-Bahri (Sea Costus). Do not torture your children by pressing their throats to cure tonsillitis.'"
"Ibn al-Qayyim explains: 'Qust is hot and dry in the third degree. It expels wind, opens blockages, clears phlegm, dries up dampness of the stomach, heals pleurisy, and is excellent for the liver when drunk with water.'"
